Test on Friday, March 13

Please study the following for the test tomorrow:

wide shot = establishing shot
rendering - creating media where it doesn't exist
composition - how a subject is framed
jump cut - an edit between shots that are mismatched
noseroom - space in front of a person in the direction they are looking
headroom - space above a subject's head
high angle - camera high and points down
low angle - camera low and points up
dutch angle - camera tilted to one side
medium shot - from around the hips to top of head
superimposed montage - two or more images mixed together using opacity
rule of thirds - mentally dividing the frame into lines to help you compose your shot
guidelines for titles - use thick, bold font - add a stroke or drop shadow -
first decision for editor - which shot to use
panning - left to right
tilting - up and down
compressing time - making something take less time than it normally would
expanding time - making something seem longer than normal
